There at least one easy way to get to this cache and several hard
ways. We wanted an adventure, so we took the hardest most scenic
way. We descended a tight, winding, slot canyon that intersects
with Moonshine Wash which is so called because moonshiners made
bootleg whiskey here during the days of prohibition. On our trip up
Moonshine Wash, we scaled several pouroffs (also known as
waterfalls without much water), waded through water neck deep,
slogged through quicksand waist deep, and generally had a great
time. There are several spots where semi advanced climbing skills
are needed. Several of our party left patches of skin on various
rocks along the way.
This route should only be attempted if you have some advanced
climbing skills and are looking for an adventure.
If you want to visit the cache and pass on leaving some of your
skin in the canyon, you can approach from the north side of the
canyon and come in the way the moonshiners did.
I would be happy to send waypoints to any one interested in
going after this cache.
