WeBeDnD: I stopped by yesterday to check on the cache. The place where this cache was placed has been altered, and as a result, the cache container hasprobably ended up in a mulcher. The container was unique, and somewhat irreplaceable. This one is history. For those interested in how the puzzle was intended to be solved, please read the extra hint.

I recently found two quarter-sized slugs in my pocket change. So I called the Counterfeit Deterrence Team to request an investigation of my 50 cent rip-off. Apparently I've not been the only one ripped off this way. Based on other incident reports, the slugs often seem to be placed into circulation in 50 cent increments - just like what happened to me. I found out the CDT has a zero-tolerance for counterfeiting and had already launched 'Operation 5050' to determine the source. The CDT has also seen internet newsgroup chatter that they suspect may be related to the counterfeiting operation because the messages are comprised of only the numbers '5' and '0' with a high frequency of '50' appearing in the message body. This is the mesage portion of the latest newsgroup posting. Please help the deterrence team decode it so they can catch the counterfeiters. Oh, by the way... I asked them if it would be possible get reimbursed for my 50 cent loss. They replied: "Don't count on it." So I placed my 2 worthless slugs in the cache along with a couple legitimate dollar bills and the other standard paperwork.
