Vanttauskoski cache is one of hydroelectric power series by
rometku.
All caches in this series are located near some hydroelectric power
plant. Don’t worry these are NOT too close a plant nor any
dangerous instruments and you are quite safe when looking for these
caches.
This cache is located near road 81 (Kuusamontie). You can park your
car to on unofficial car park located at:
N 66°21.858
E026°41.075
You can walk to the cache using a small road that starts ~100
meters down back to dam (next to road 81 = Kuusamontie) going down
to the southern side of the dam. Just keep walking the small road,
don’t try to take any short cuts.
Cache is located only ~10-15 meters from the river and in rocky
terrain so be careful if you have children with you. For your own
safety keep at least 10 meter distance to dam and WALK ONLY ON
SMALL ROADS IN THE AREA and avoid looking for this cache in spring
flood time.
Cache is located in dry land and you do NOT have to go close the
dam nor close to any electricity polls or other dangerous objects
to find it.
