Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Groton Place-Sabine Woods. Parking can be found off of Route 225 in West Groton, close to Nashoba Paddlers and Groton Nursery. We placed a cache (The Groton Hunt) in this beautiful area but it had gotten so water logged that is was beyond repair. This has to be one of our favorite places that we felt people should come and experience it again, especially when every thing is in bloom.

We have made this a mystery cache but all the clues are available on the loop trail. We suggest going RIGHT to find the quickest spots for the clues. The Gang can walk the loop in about a half an hour. On to the clues...

To find the cache, you will need to find some information.the coordinates are:42.36. ABC 071.35.XYZ.

At the beginning on the walk, you will come up to a beautiful granite bench dedicated to the Groton Hunt.If you have access to a digital camera have your picture taken here and post it. My girls like the "Bucket"

1. The Groton Hunt lasted from 19Y2 until 1964.

2. Pat Rooney was a Noble Constant. Count how many letters are in the type of animal he was and call this number C.

3. What last digit is on the memorial and subtract one and call this number X.

4. Near Pat Rooney lies Dumaine. To get B and Z: On the first set of numbers you have 18GH. Subtract G-H to get B and Z.
5. The last number is A. Example 18GH- 195A

The above coordinates are for from our last cache and are not the location of this cache. Continue on the loop for the quickest way out!

Dogs are welcome!

There is no bushwacking required (on the left of the path) and no poison ivy, stone walls, or face slapping branches. Please be discrete. This area is very much used and we would hate for another cache to go MIA!!

Contents are located in the smaller size ammo box.

There is a nearby letterbox for those who like to do them. It's not to far for our cache and you will need to find the some of the same information.

Enjoy!
