Visit this well placed cache in one of the best public parks in Western MA. The cache is a 1.5 gallon container stocked with traditional cache goodies, painted brown and black, and tucked securely away.This is a beautiful park, stop by, enjoy the area, and collect a “Smiley!”

Team Troglodyte makes an annual visit to Massachusetts from Texas, and last year (2003) we noticed that the Chicopee Memorial State Park was cache-less. We thought that by this year there would certainly be a cache hidden here. When there was not, we “Teamed” with some of our friends in the area to remedy the situation.
This cache is hidden just inside the entrance to the park. It is not necessary to enter the park itself and pay the $5 per car fee unless you plan to spend time in the park proper. The park supervisor suggested parking in a nearby restaurant parking lot and walking in, and said that to do so would be perfectly acceptable. It appears that parking is also available on nearby residential streets, although not on Holyoke Street by the park entrance. From the nearby restaurant (parking in the back lot should be acceptable) it is approximately .5 miles round trip to the park. The park is closed after dark, so please do not attempt to locate this one at night.
