Geocache Description:

What a place for a theatre.

Two dirt roads converge about 200 yards from the paved road. If anyone gave it a second thought they might wonder why two such short roads went to the same place. The reason is that over 50 years ago, Sue Hutchinson started a summer theatre by Governor's Lake at the end of this road, officially named Smith Pond Road. The cars coming to and from the theatre had to pass very close to the only other existing house on the road. To keep the peace with the neighbors, Sue purchased a right-of-way, creating the second, western most, of the two roads. It is officailly named Hutchinson Road, a fact recently recognized by the town of Raymond with a street sign. The non-named road is now a private road. The Hutchinson Summer Theatre is long gone, torn down over 30 years ago. All that remains are memories and this short section of redundant road. This cache is a camoed rubbermaid container. It should be an easy find with the hint and is travel bug friendly as it is very close to roads. You can park on the side of the dirt road about 10 yards from the cache. It is covered lightly with pine needles. The neighbors are aware of it as is the land owner, but there are occasional teenagers walking by who might not be sympathetic to geocaching. If they are present it is probably best to drive by and come back later. It has the standard stuff.

This cache is an oldie. The teenage muggles are grown up and don't walk down the road anymore. The neighbor is still the same and has helped dozens of cachers find it.
