Geocache Description:

This cache is located on a small island in Pleasant Bay and a boat is necessary to reach it.

I would recommend only attempting this cache in the summer months, unless you are willing to brave cold weather on the water. The island is called Little Sipson, and it is small enough that you could probably walk around it in about five minutes.

The original cache was washed away in a storm, so it has been replaced on higher ground. The replacement has gotten wet during the winter, so it has been moved higher still ;). However, it is still accessable from the "beach" -- there is no need to venture into the wooded, scrubby, center of the island.

NO BUSHWACKING REQUIRED.

Waters near the island are shallow, so a kayak or small sailboat would be perfect for retrieving this cache.

Public ramps available:

Quanset Road (off Rt 28, Orleans) - paved ramp but no parking.

Round Cove (Cove Landing Rd, off Rt 28, technically Harwich) - gravel ramp, limited parking (very near Pirate Island cache (visit link)

Additional Access Points:
Orleans: (visit link)
Chatham: (visit link)
Thank you edexter for these links.

BTW: don't forget bug spray. The island's predominant native fauna are green flies.

Update 7/3/2012 - Americorp has placed an Osprey "pole" on the island, which is clearly visible from the West. Take a look, but do so from a respectful distance. The cache is nowhere near it.
