Sv. Filip a Jakub, Praha 5
St. Philip and James, Prague 5

Obec Smíchov zakoupila pozemky nad Radlickou ulicí v roce 1875, aby na nich postavila hrbitov. Ten byl v následujícím roce založen a zacal sloužit svému úcelu. Základní kámen ke stavbe hrbitovního kostela byl položen v roce 1894 a dva roky poté vysvecen.

A odtud pochází název tohoto místa.

Smichov municipality bought grounds above Radlick:a street in the 1875 in order to build a graveyard there. Next year it was set-up and began to serve. Foundation stone to a cemetary church was laid in the 1894 and consecrated two years after. The church was built using material from the original church of st. Philip and Jacob on today's Arbes Square which was pulled down after being replaced by st. Wenceslas church. Two sculptures of saints in arcades by both sides of the church and the sculpture of the Saviour in the front come from the original church. Old bells were brought to new church, too.

There was the farm Malvazinka built around 1628 by Tomas Malvazy standing in place of today's graveyard in the 17th century. And this is where the name of the place came from. Plan of the cemetary is the work of Antonin Barvitius. It was extended several times, reached today's area and became the second most ample next to Olsany.

I spent about 20 minutes trying to find it today and couldn't. I compared my location to the pictures, hints and descriptions so I'm fairly certain I was in the right place.
