This log-only, micro cache is located in the Cimetiere de Montparnasse. The terrain is easy and there should be good GPS reception in the area. The nearest Metro station is Raspail or Edgar Quinet on the 4 and 6 lines. This is a very small cache so PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS IN THE CACHE! It will only jam the small container.

Many famous people rest in this cemetery. You’ll find Charles Baudelaire amongst the bad flowers; Chaim Soutine is hanging about still looking for that perfect colour red; Sam Beckett is still waiting for his happy day; and Alfred Dreyfus is not accused of lying here, he actually does! Sartre lies together with Beauvoir and this time there is no exit; Raymond Aron lies parallel with his line; Man Ray is here but he no longer calls for action: and Serge Gainsbourg is here but if you are not French you probably don’t know him (we didn’t).

Be sure to get a map to the stars on your way in. Opening hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5:30pm; Saturday 8:30am – 5:50pm and Sunday 9am – 5:30pm. During March through November it stays open another 30 minutes.

The micro cache you seek is a small breath strip container painted silver. It measures only 5cmX3cmX1cm and it contains only a log sheet, so bring a pen. Please replace exactly how you found it to keep it well hidden and protected from the elements.

Remember this is an active cemetery so please be respectful to mourners and if there are people around be prepared to wait around or perhaps visit the nearby Montparnasse Tower for some great views and then return.

LOG-ONLY CACHE!! DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS IN THE CACHE!!!

Fühlte sich schon etwas morbide an, in einem Friedhof zu cachen. Entsprechend schnell geloggt und wieder abgezogen...

Found the visit to Batimat. My first hiding in France, while just at the cemetery, but again there was peace :o) Paris is almost as beautiful as Prague !
