This cache is located in Francis Park in South St. Louis. The park is named after David R Francis, former Mayor of St. Louis and Governor of Missouri; and, the man who is responsible for bringing the World’s Fair to St Louis 100 years ago.

A “first class” cache would provide you with all the information you need to find the hidden treasure. But this one is missing the coordinates for one of the waypoints. That’s why it’s named Second Class Cache.

Instead of giving you a specific location for the waypoint, I’m going to give you a set of boundaries and let you do some searching.

The above listed coordinates will take you to WP#1 where you will find a man-made structure. Attached to the outside of this structure you will find two metal tags. One of these tags will contain two latitudes and the other will contain two longitudes. The top latitude from one tag goes with the top longitude from the other tag; and the bottom latitude is to be paired with the bottom longitude.

The coordinates from these tags will take you to two similar objects. There is no path connecting these objects, but thanks to Mother Nature you, will see an obvious connection from one to the other. I will refer to this connection as a sidewalk, but don’t look for any pavement. It’s not that kind of sidewalk.

The sidewalk will define your search area. Waypoint #2 is within 20 feet of the sidewalk. Waypoint #2 will contain the missing numbers for the final cache. Plug them into the missing spaces below and go find the final.

FINAL CACHE IS AT………N38*35.XXX W090*18.XXX

The container is a 35mm film container,. Not large enough for much trading.

********As of July, 2008, the final cache has been moved a few hundred yards because the old hiding place kept getting muggled. The numbers at waypoint #2 have been changed to reflect the new location. .

I’ve also made a slight addition to the cache. I’ve made it night-time accessible. At each of the tags I’ve placed “shiners”. There are two shiners at waypoint #1, one near each tag, one shiner at waypoint #2 and one shiner at the final. They are not arranged in a trail that you can follow, they are just there to help locate the tag. If you find the shiners, you are within a foot of the tag. Please remember, curfew in Francis park is 10:00PM.
