Tiilikkajärven kansallispuisto tunnetaan hienoista hiekkarannoistaan, joista Venäjänhiekka on puiston helmi. Tiilikkajärven kansallispuisto on monipuolinen retkeilykohde, joka pitää sisällään koko kauniin Tiilikka-järven ympäristöineen. Kansallispuisto sopii sekä päivä- että eräretkeilyyn niin jalkaisin kuin kanootilla tai veneelläkin. Puistossa saat omassa rauhassa nauttia luontoelämyksistä.
Tiilikan alue on luonnonsuojelullisesti arvokas metsä- ja suotyyppien vaihettumisvyöhyke, jossa pohjoiset luonnonpiirteet sekoittuvat eteläisiin. Tiilikalla kohtaa rinnan erämäistä harjuluontoa ja tupasvillan kehystämiä aapasoita.
Vaihtelevan luonnon lisäksi kansallispuistossa pääsee tutustumaan alueen monipuoliseen historiaan, johon kuuluvat muun muassa Täyssinän rauhan rajakivi, 1920-luvulta peräisin oleva idyllinen perinnemaisema rakennuksineen sekä savottakulttuurin aikaisia rakenteita.
Uiton kierto on 7km pitkä polku joka lähtee Sammakkotammen opastuspisteestä.

Tiilikka National Park has been established to preserve wild lake, river and esker ecosystems, as well as the open aapa mires surrounding Lake Tiilikkajärvi. The area's value as a preserve is enhanced by its location in a transition zone among forests and peatland ecosystems on the borders of North Savo and Kainuu.
Covering some 400 hectares, Lake Tiilikkajärvi is an oligotrophic and shallow lake, with its water stained brown. It is renowned for its lovely sandy beaches. The lake is supplied by the River Itkonjoki, which meanders through peatlands. Eskers composed of coarse gravel with a northwest-southeast orientation split both the open water of the lake and the park's peatlands. In the lake they form straight-shored low promontories made up of sand and gravel which, together with a growth of Scots pine, dominate the lake's scenery. Less than one third of the national park is forested. Barren heath forests composed of Scots pine are the commonest form of forest. The remaining two thirds is boggy. There is an alternation of the features characteristic of Finland's northern open aapa mires with the raised bogs of the south. The open mires are dry, with few of the inundated areas normally found in such habitats.
The national park is suitable for day trips on foot, by canoe or by boat. Starting at the information point, the Uitto trail (7 km) is its most popular hiking route. Venäjänhiekka is the park's finest sandy beach.
