US-FIN Geocaching F1 Grand Prix Cache

All geocaching F1 and other racing fans,

Welcome to the first annual geocaching US-FIN F1Grand Prix.

The goal of this cache is to race 8 F1 car travel bugs from Austin, TX USA to Keimola, Finland

(cache name: “Bensaa Suonissa”. Waypoint GCJYB4).

There will be several races included in the Grand Prix race.

1)     Fastest to reach the finish line

2)     Shortest route to the finish line

3)     Points race to the finish line

The race, moving the travel bug, takes place according to agreed standard geocaching rules.

Please move only one car at time per geocacher.

Please do your best to move the travel bug towards its goal line.

 

The race car drivers are as follows :

  5. Kimi Raikkonen (TBGR5E)

All the cars are named after past or current Finnish F1 drivers. Pick your favorite and get him moving. 

After all travel bugs have moved out, the cache will function as a regular cache.

 

Fastest car race

The winner is the car that takes the shortest time from the moment “F1 Grand Prix” cache (way point here) came

online to when the car is logged at “Bensaa Suonissa” cache (GCJYB4).

 

Shortest route race

The winner is the car that takes the shortest route in kilometers between each cache the car is

logged in on its way from “F1 Grand Prix” cache to “Bensaa Suonissa” cache (GCJYB4).

 

The points race

F1 cars, travel bugs, will be awarded points along the race according the following criteria.

 

1)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken on any road race track surface along the route (10 points)

2)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken on a surface of track used for F1 race (25 points)

3)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken on top of any race car (except a formula open wheel type of race car body) (10 points)

4)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken on top of any formula open wheel type of race car body (20 points)

5)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken with any licensed race car driver (expect FIA licensed) (30 points)

6)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken with a FIA licensed race car driver (50 points)

7)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken on top of any past or present F1 car (100 points)

8)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken with any past or current F1 driver (except a world champion) (250 points)

9)     Picture of the F1 car (travel bug) taken with any past or current world champion F1 (500 points)

 

Amendment to the points rule as of Aug 26/04: 

Any worth while of picture of the F1 car (travel bug) that makes the owner of the cache to laugh, will be awarded points

according to the mood of the owner :-)
