MGL Multi Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

erik88l-r: No response to four e-mails, and the previous log, over a two week period. This cache listing has been archived to allow another to be published near the posted coords.
Please contact me if you would like the cache reinstated. As long as no physical stages are too close to other caches, and as long as it can be maintained, we should be able to do that.
Regards,
erik

Geocache Description:

MGL Multi

Hard Multicache in Mongolia. Serious equipment (4WD Jeep) required. The Cache is a round-trip, starting and ending in Ulan Batar. Due to the extreme changes in road conditions, it is impossible to make exact statements about the time necessary to do the cache. Just take a map, mark the stations and ask a local guide for the time required.

I do NOT recommend to do this Cache between September and May! If you want, you can check the weather conditions in Ulan Batar before.

Station Zero: Go to the coordinates listed and enjoy a good lunch. Recommended are especially "Chicken sweet and sour", "Beef with vegetables and green chili" and of course Chinggis Beer.
Station A: What special thing do you see at N45 45.653 E106 16.562? Please refer to the list below.
Station B: What special thing do you see at N44 26.937 E105 20.758? Please refer to the list below.
Station C: At N43 34.357 E104 25.670 you see a monument. How many vertical pieces of concrete does it consist of?
Station D: What special thing do you see at N43 29.338 E104 04.605? Please refer to the list below.
Station E: What special thing do you see at N44 24.624 E103 48.375? Please refer to the list below.
Station F: What special thing do you see at N44 49.217 E104 04.296? Please refer to the list below.
Station G: What special thing do you see at N45 20.035 E104 00.707? Please refer to the list below.
Station H + I: Go to N47 08.638 E102 55.639. How large may vehicles be to pass this gate? H = height in dm, I = width in dm. 10dm are 1m are 100cm
Station J: What special thing do you see at N47 41.776 E105 56.109? Please refer to the list below.

To find the cache, do the following calculations:
  • A * C + D * E - F * G - (H - J) * I = K
  • (A - B) * 7 - C * D E * F + (J - G) * D = L
  • Add K and L to the coordinates N47 54.000 E106 54.000. E.g. if K is 12 and L is 3456, the final coordinates would be N47 54.012 E106 57.456.
  • The Cache is located in the exact centre of three bushes/trees, building an exact triangle. It is covered with some sand, as usual in Mongolia.

The Cache contains: Stashnote, logbook, pencil, pen, lighter, four AA batteries, paper tissues, soap, pocket calculator, candle.

Important: In the cap of the Cachebox, you will find a five-digit number. Before you log the cache here, send the number to me! Do under no circumstances post the number in your log! Logs done without confirmation and/or logs containing spoilers or the number will be deleted.

This Cache was placed on a vacation trip through Mongolia, but a close friend of mine lives in UB and agreed to maintain it. She already did the first maintaining visit, so it really works.

Have phun!
