The fourteenth in a series on "Lord of the Rings" theme, this cache is a 1km gentle uphill walk if the gate is closed. (About 18m if the gate is open would give it a 1 star terrain rating.)
This spot has some great views across the hills to the north, east & south. It was great to stand here and watch the rain clouds moving across the hills unloading their precious cargo onto the forests below. Weathertop was the place where the ring wraith king stabbed Frodo in the shoulder before being chased off by Strider. The wound was to stay with Frodo the rest of his life.
