You will NOT need to leave the trail or bushwack... no assaults on vegetation required.
This is an easy hike on a wide hardpack trail that ends in a spot with a view of a truly "wild" beach. The beach below is set aside for wildlife only... (That's "wildlife" as in animals and birds and such ... NOT wild parties or college students ).
The coastal trails of Wilder Ranch State Park follow the coast northward for over 4 miles... so you don't need to end your outing here. This just happens to be a nice spot to rest and enjoy the view. The coastal views just get better as you follow the trails northward.

Closest place to park is at Wilder Ranch State park(N36 57.608 W122 05.124, state park use fee applies)or...
Parking 2:Closest trailhead with free parking is at Shaffer Road and Highway 1 (N36 57.655 W122 03.730). You can use the paved multiuse trail (hike and bike) that starts behind Natural Bridges and parallels Highway 1. Horses also use this trail, so please be courteous of the horses.
Cache was replaced 7/9/2010. The new cache is cylindrical about 2" x 6". Please replace it so that it is not visible from above. Thanks, and enjoy the view!
Very good satellite coverage, so if you need a break from caching under the Redwoods, you should really like this area. Coordinates for the cache are a 150 pt average with a reported EPE of 9 ft.
