This cache is the first of (hopefully) a series of caches along railtrails and abandonded railbeds. This cache is located on the Lawrence-Manchester line of the Boston And Maine Railroad.
The cache is a smallish, yellowish round tupperware container. The railbed going out to the cache is torn up by ATVs... it's kind of sandy, and I can imagine it to be very rough walking due to the "washboard" surface created by ATVs... Parking is available at roughly N42 54.010 W071 20.692. The walk is about 3/4 of a mile from suggested parking coords. There is a shorter way to get there if you know how... that's a bit harder to get to a parking area though...
***EDIT (11/13/04)***As Star-Beam said, this area has, unfortunately become a dumping ground for old tires, appliances, etc. I was wondering if there is any interest for doing a CITO day around here. Londonderry Trailways manages many of the recreational areas in town, and they have also expressed the fact that this area needs cleaning. I might be able to organize a trail work day/CITO event all on the same day, with both Geocachers and Trailways members- Might generate some interest in Geocaching for the Trailways members who don't already know about caching.
Let me know if there is any interest!
