A short hike from Bald Peak.You may want to find the cache on Bald Peak first
When arriving in Welsford on the #7 take the 101 North. Almost immediately you'll need to take Burton Lane to your right. It's paved for only 30 ft as the pavement veers off to the left to what was the old Welsford school (now apartments). Continue off the pavement to dirt road that then veers to the left. Follow the road (which has some branches overhanging on it - nothing serious though) until it widens to a clearing and wants to continue off to the left. Immediately look up to your right when in the clearing and you will see 8ft wide trail heading up into the woods. Park somewhere in the clearing and start up the trail.
This cache was set on Nov. 2 2003 but is just being posted Sept 2004.Our scout troop set it On a day hike to Bald Peak then cross country to Mount Douglas.This cache is not far off the main trail but far enough that you should take bearings so you do not get turned around.A compass should always be carried as well as your GPS.The coordinates were within five feet on this one.It is a large peanut butter type jar with log book and many articles inside which all the scouts brought with them on the hike to donate to the cache.This is a very steep uphill climb,you should take water with you and wear proper footwear.Parking details can be found by checking the write up on "It's like finding a hair on Bald Peak".
