Watery Hideaway Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

caughtatwork: This is an ex-cache.
I had the chance to drop by this morning and there is neither hide nor hair of this cache to be seen.
It was nice while it lasted, but I'm afraid this cache has gone to meet his maker.
I may place a couple of ammo cans in the area as I think it's too nice to leave cacheless.
Unless, of course, unless someone else beats me to placing a regular sized cache in here first.

Geocache Description:

A Watery Hideaway in a tranquil setting is the location for the thirteenth cache by caughtatwork.

Four and a half million years ago volcanic eruptions covered this area to form a dense rock called basalt and in 1921 a significant amount of basalt was quarried until 1992 when the area was turned into a parkland with massive lakes abounding.

This area is now a park of diverse habitats: lakes, forest, wetlands and parklands, a 15 minute drive west from the centre of Melbourne.

You may need to walk around 500 meters to get to the cache site (depending on where you park) and it is recommended you walk one way to get there and another on the way back (they're about the same distance) so you can enjoy all of the offerings that this area has.

The cache is around 375ml and is not placed in any environmentally sensitive areas.

Please consider the type of cache container used and replace the cache appropriately when you are finished.

No dogs, bikes or fishing is allowed and the park is open from 8:00am until dusk each day.

We hope you enjoy the setting and the cache.
