Fishin' with Monkeys (It's a 2-fer!!) Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Marshmallow Roester: Yeah - I've been a bad geocacher. Sorry about that.

I am way too busy right now to get up there. If someone wants to grab what is left that works for me - I will recheck the site for leftovers when I am able.

Geocache Description:

"HEY THERE BIG BEAR, WATCHA DOING???" "GRRRR..... FISHIN' FOR CACHE OF COURSE!!!!" ***********************************************************************

You'll never believe what happened today!! I have quite the story!

Well it all started when I awoke from a deep, relaxing sleep. The kind you wish could have lingered on just a moment longer. Well, just as I was moving away from dreamland and into reality, I clearly recalled a dream (or was it?) in vivid details. Unfortunately, as time went on the dream faded more and more until all that was left was the odd feeling that someone or something was in trouble and needed my help. I thought hard and long, trying to recall my dream, but the more I tried to remember, the less came back to me.

Eventually, I went back to routine and started thinking about the day ahead of me. I decided to go for a morning ride in the hills at a local park and so gathered my things together and shut the door behind me, at the same time leaving behind any thoughts of my once vivid dream.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was out and the air was unusually clean. I felt good and so got to turning circles on my bike. Along my ride I stopped for water at one of the fountains near an algae-laden pond. I normally don't stop at these fountains: Usually I have my camelback with me, but today I only brought one bottle (now empty) and the heat was making me thirsty. The water had a metallic taste to it, but it was much better than nothing.

Just then, I heard a bubbling/gurgling sound coming from the water! It souded like something was trapped under the algae! I tried to see what was going on, but was resisting going into the muck that forms when algae, old and hot in the sun, gets trampled by cattle. It forms this mixture of rotten algae, mud, water, and other unmentionables. I'll just say it's from the cows exaust end, and it's unpleasant. Well I couldn't just stand there watching like some fan at a baseball bame, so I sloshed in and moved towards the site of the bubbles.

I approached cautiously, and noticed that there was some sort of container being held under by some fishing line. I ran my hands and feet through the mucky bottom and felt around to see what was holding it back. There was something that felt like a fishing rod under my toes, and I used my foot to pry under it. Well i had barely lifted it when.... THAT THING CAME ROCKETING OUT OF THE WATER!!! I tried to read what some papers said inside, but it was covered with algae soup and moving so fast! I only made out these letters: G O A HIN S TE and was trailing the rod behind as it went like a kite's tail. Well I lost track of it's flight, but out of the corner of my eye I thought it may have landed in the vicinity of a grouping of trees on the other side of some hills. I did hear a crash of branches, so I think I have a good idea of where it might be.

Sorry I can't finish the story, but that's what happened. I have no idea what it was or where it went. I hate it when I don't know the ending of something like this amazing tale. Maybe some of you can help me finish this story: If you happen to find a container that is still attached to a fishing rod, and near the coordinates I guestimated, then please let me know what happened after all this!

I'LL BE WAITING TO HEAR YOUR BIG FISH/CACHE STORIES!!
