Caution: this is not a winter-friendly cache. IT can be done, but only with much frustration and preservance.
The premise of the cache is that of the old joke:
|
Knock Knock.
Who's There?
Banana.
Banana Who?
Knock Knock.
Who's There?
Banana.
Banana Who?
(jokes repeats ad nauseam)
Knock Knock.
Who's There?
Orange.
Orange Who?
Orange ya glad I didn't say "Banana?" |
So the initial coordinates indicate where a micro cache is hidden. It will point you in the direction of an ammo can that appears to be a final cache. But the catch is that within 10 feet of the ammo can, there might be another micro cache that will point you to another ammo can, which may itself have a micro within 10 feet... and so on. After finding at least two ammo cans, and signing the log at each ammo can, feel free to log it as a find. However, if you're not done with the whole cache, you'll know. Hopefully, this will irk you to go out and find the next part of the cache along the way. You might even say that it'll drive you bananas. The difficulty increases as you proceed to the final. Some of the micros are non-routine and you'll have to think outside the box. Sometimes, even that won't help. Happy hunting and enjoy the park.
During snow season, please only proceed if you can leave no obvious signs of a cache. Also, don't dead end a snow trail at any of the parts. Reminder: be discreet, locations are off-trail, but not by so much that an astute passer-by couldn't notice.
The length of the round trip was between 0.5 miles and 1.5 miles. Most of the trails are well-packed and sutiable for biking. The majority of the trip can be on these paths. There is a small stream that the trails intersect, sometimes without a culvert. It is usually passable.
Remember: each ammo can has a micro within 10 feet of it – please make sure to replace the ammo can and the micro back where they were found and please hide it at least as well as it was found. Also note, some of the ammo cans can have decoy micros nearby as well. If you find a decoy, at least you know that there is a real micro nearby.
