A great hike over rough terrain with NO TRAILS! The payoff is a fantastic view of the West Branch Musquash river. Not kid-friendly, not for inexperienced hikers.
This is not an easy saunter through a safe public park in the dangerous heart of Saint John (Ooh! Mosquitoes!) You MUST be physically fit and you MUST be experienced in cross-country trekking. Pack the usuals - cell phone, first aid, water, food, etc. You will not need climbing gear. The start of the journey is the dam on Seven Mile Lake. Cross below the dam. Do not attempt this if the floodgate is open! Give up and try another day or use a boat or canoe. Make your way to the far side of the dam and begin moving toward the provided co-ordinates. If you have a boat, come aground on the side opposite the ranger camp. I have placed marker ribbons along the way to help. They end about 100 meters from the objective. You will have been gaining elevation all along, so just keep climbing. When you get to the final rock ledge, don't try to climb straight up; go around to the left and climb up the side...it's MUCH easier. Once on top, enjoy the view. The cache should be easy to find up there...not many places to hide it!
All land in this area is public (Crown land) as are all access roads.

Logbook, carabiner, souvenir screwdriver (small), ping pong ball, 3 cartoon character toys, old Zippo lighter (empty), cheap binoculars.
Deer hunting season (Hunter Orange required) begins October 25 and ends November 20.
