Geocache Description:

This is our first cache, and was created and placed by my son's Cub Scout Den - the Cobra Den, as a project last Spring. My husband is the den leader. It is a nice walk along trails near a pond/stream.

We've been enjoying geocaching and letterboxing as a family for about a year and thought it would be fun to introduce others to our hobby. We made it available as a letterbox for the entire Cub Scout Pack (107), in the hopes of getting some feedback before submitting it to the website. With much procrastination and a slight location change, I decided to make it a geocache only and post it here. There are a few log pages signed already, but FTF will get credit after the posting date. Also, I left the letterboxing stamp and pad for posterity and for any scouts who may still be interested, so please leave those. Feel free to check out the homemade stamp!

The location change was due to a more recent letterbox being placed right near our original location, and since I hadn't submitted mine yet, I chose to move it. Check out "The Forbidden Forest" on www.letterboxing.org for a nearby letterbox.

The cache is equidistant from two familiar parking areas. One here N 42 33 358 W 71 20 404 and one here N 42 34 005 W 71 20 292. They should be familiar to plenty of cachers. First is the canoe launch parking on North Rd at Great Brook and the second is the Thanksgiving Forest parking in Chelmsford. Either one is fine. In case you've gone one way before, try the other way. I like to think the cache location is quite picturesque. Plenty of evidence of horses to boot! (pun intended!)

This is our first cache so any feedback is welcome. I also had some difficulty getting a good gps reading, but hopefully after several trips I managed to obtain a decent set of coords. You may need the hint due to tree cover but otherwise it's pretty easy. The cache is a Rubbermaid container with a blue lid. Medium size.
