Euer Weg führt Euch zunächst zur Ruine Alt-Wolfstein, ein Ort, der
wahrscheinlich schon im 10. Jahrhundert bebaut war. Das, was Ihr
heute noch seht, stammt vermutlich aus der zweiten Hälfte des 12.
Jahrhunderts. Die Burg wurde 1504 zerstört und nicht wieder
aufgebaut, weil es ja auch noch.....
....Neu-Wolfstein gab. Neu-Wolfstein ist etwa 100 Jahre
jünger als sein Verwandter, hatte aber deutlich länger Bestand. Die
Burg wurde erst im Pfälzischen Erbfolgekrieg 1688 , dann noch
einmal 1713 im Spanischen Erbfolgekrieg zerstört.
Bis 1798 wohnte dann der Pfarrer hier, seit 1930 befindet sich im
Innenhof von Neu-Wolfstein eine Krieger-Gedenkstätte.
Auf Alt-Wolfstein findet Ihr in der Nähe der oben angegebenen
Koordinaten einen Micro mit den Ortsangaben des Hauptcaches.
Nehmt Euch genügend Zeit mit, auch der Ort Wolfstein selbst ist
ganz sehenswert. Wer sonntags kommt, kann zwischen 13.00 und 18.00
Uhr in ein Besucherbergwerk einfahren.

You are going to visit the ruin of Alt-Wolfstein (Old~), buildings
go back to the 10th century. What you can see today, are the ruins
of a castle built in the second half of the 12th century. It was
destroyed in 1504 and not reestablished, because by that time there
already was Neu-Wolfstein.
About 100 years younger, it lasted a lot longer, too. It was
destroyed in 1688, rebuilt and destroyed again in 1713. Then
rebuilt again, it was the home of the catholic priest till
1798, since 1930 Neu-Wolfstein is a memorial to soldiers and
civilian population of Wolfstein, who died in the two world
wars.
In the remains of Alt-Wolfstein you will find a micro with the
coords of the final.
Bring enough time and have a look at the small town of Wolfstein
itself. If you come here on sunday, you may want to visit a mine
open to visitors between 13.00 and 18.00.
