Virus Cache Alpha Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nankoweap: Looks like this one is in the grave. Replaced it with "Box of Flashlights" cache that's nearby, hopefully in a more protected spot on 12/12/07.

Geocache Description:

Virus Cache Alpha is the reservoir for a payload of ten viral mini-caches that are spread only through GPS infected human hosts. The goal of each of the mini-caches is to attach to a host and infect another destination. These caches would like to travel to scenic areas, maybe off the beaten path. If you become infected, one the best place to cure yourself of the infection might be on a long hike in some close by, wild, natural place. I’ve hiked to more nice spots when looking for caches, than when just looking for nice spots.

When you hide one of the mini-caches, please log it at here so I know where it went - that will be my excuse for some hikes to new areas - to study the spread of the virus. All in the interest of research, of course.

The cache is a regular size ammo box with it's payload of ten viral mini-caches, a FTF prize, and an assortment of the usual trade goods. Each mini-cache has log sheets and a pencil – it's empty otherwise, but there is room for a few small trade items.

I thought that this might be a novel idea (and a good way to get rid of a bunch of mini-cache containers), but in doing some research, I found a similar (but much more creative) cache called Vector, so I can’t claim to be the FTTOI (first to think of it).

Note: Virus refers to the concept, not to what’s physically in the cache. There is no biological virus in the cache, unless it got in accidentally when I sneezed.
