Impromptu Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nazgul: Since the tree is history and the film can has been retrieved, I'm archiving this cache. I plan to replace it with a proper, full-size cache somewhere along the same trail at a future date.

Geocache Description:

I was hiking this part of the park for the first time and liked it so much that I thought it needed a cache to help bring people way out here. Besides, if you've come out for the Woodpecker Tree cache at Eagle Lake, you deserve another find, as well as an excuse to press on to this lovely area. Unfortunately, I hadn't planned on placing a cache so all I had with me was a 35mm film can. Sorry!

The terrain rating is if you come down from the Twin Gates area, which makes it less than two miles to reach the cache. You'll encounter several steep hills. Add a star if you're coming from the main parking lot, in which case you have more like a 3.5 mile hike to the cache.

I came in from the main parking lot, out to Eagle Lake, past this cache on the Foothill trail, to the Bonhoff trail before heading down Cañada de Pala trail then back to the parking for about 9 miles total with a few grueling hill climbs.

The cache is certainly nothing special but this area is. It's quite different from the rest of the park, being more closed-in with light woods. The cache isn't really concealed, just obscured from people who are on the nearby trail. No need to dig around or uncover anything unless the cache moves. The hint is a total spoiler.
