How Geocaching Works
Small Lock&Lock cache along the Yellow River.
Area is flat and level, and darn near handicap accessible; it's pretty much like someone's back yard, so grass, amd dirt. The Yellow River starts in Washburn County in Spooner about 40 miles estimated southeast as the crow flies. As the river travels northward to the St Croix, it goes from being a scenic canoe river to one that boaters fishermen use. From this spot, one can go downriver a couple miles to the NWEC dam in Danbury, or they can travel upriver to the Little Yellow Lake, and if they have a small enough boat to go under the bridge, continue to the Big Yellow Lake. Good fishing can be had for walleye, largemouth bass, northerns, and others. This park is a beautiful area that is not used much.
