Sandy Creek Cowboy Cache No. 11
In California, United States
How Geocaching Works
Here’s a scenic drive along the maintained La Posta Truck Trail. Enjoy sweeping views of Sandy Creek Ranch and Thing Ranch as you navigate toward this cowboy cache. The container is situated on a low hill that overlooks a lovely oak-studded valley. With care you can pick and choose your way along fresh deer trails that avoid the need to bushwhack through any of the abundant Chamise thickets that cover the surrounding hills. Piece o’ cake.
Would you suppose that the Sandy Creek Cowboys are nature lovers? Yes indeed we are. In fact Sandy Creek Ranch is an officially registered wildlife habitat. A great deal of effort goes into maintaining the wild-life sanctuaries of Sandy Creek Ranch.
We invite you to read about some of our efforts on our web page at (visit link) Make sure to view the “Fauna/Wildlife/Bill’s Bird List” link of our web page. The resident and migratory bird population found along La Post Truck Trail is truly amazing. Our ponds and feeders are always alive with avian activity.
This cache honors the abundant bird life that helps make ranch-life worth the effort. The cache container is also a showpiece of woodworking skill accomplished by Carpenter from Hell. Do treat the container with proper respect and feel free to compliment Carpenter on his effort.
