Long Beach, Dunedin (Otago) Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

U.N.C.L.E.: As the cache hadn't been found since October last year and the last two searches were unsuccessful I thought it was time for a check. Sure enough- gone. So archiving and opening up area to anyone else who is interested.

Geocache Description:

Requires a beach walk. Located near some interesting caves. Cache is a 200ml snaplock container, painted black.

Long Beach can be reached from either Port Chalmers or Waitati. In both cases you're looking for Blueskin and Purakaunui Roads. Well signposted.

Park at the picnic ground. The cache is 845 metres North along the beach from the Long Beach Conservation Area sign.

The cache is in a crevice in rock and a torch to assist with peering into such things could be useful. It is at 10 metres elevation.

The cache contains a logsheet and pencil. There may be room in the cache for some very small trading items.
