Welcome to your guided tour of the University of
Melbourne.
The University of Melbourne was founded very early in the history
of the colony of Victoria, less than 20 years after Batman and
Fawkner arrived. Teaching commenced in 1854, and the history of the
University makes for some fascinating locations.
1. At our starting location, there is a welcoming message with
your invitation to enter the grounds;
This section of fence reinstalled in ABCD
Was part of the original removed in EFGH
Under an agreement with the Melbourne City Council

a self-contained estate with its own protocols for control and
admission to the grounds.
