The Lake is a refreshing stop from the Napier Wairoa highway, it is
2.4km long 0.8km wide, and camping is permitted along the lake
front.
There are a number of toilets around the lake. Picnic and camping
areas are provided on lake shores. The lakes may be used for
swimming yachting and rowing. Trout fishing is best at the Northern
end. There are number of great walks that go either around the lake
or not far from it, they are well signposted. You are looking for a
tall plastic container (painted green). It initially contained
