De heide en het landgoed danken hun naam aan de Groevenbeek waarvan de sprengkop zich op het landgoed bevindt. De heide wordt niet meer begraasd, maar door plaggen (de kale stroken die je tegenkomt) blijft de grond arm en vergrast de heide niet. Het landgoed bestaat uit een parkbos, percelen hakhout en landbouwgrond en is eigendom van Natuurmonumenten. In het gebied broeden talrijke vogels waaronder zwarte en groene specht, buizerd en havik. Ook kan je groter wild zoals reeën of wilde zwijnen tegenkomen.
Houd je tijdens het opsporen van de cache aan de hier geldende regels:
- Het gebied is alleen toegankelijk tussen zonsopgang en zonsondergang.
- Blijf op de paden en heb respect voor de natuur. Voor de cache hoef je het bos niet in, ook graven of anderszins is niet nodig.
- Honden zijn toegestaan. Op de heide mogen ze vrij loslopen. Daarbuiten dienen honden aan de lijn gehouden te worden i.v.m. het hier aanwezige wild.
- Fietsen is toegestaan op wegen en paden. Fietsen is niet toegestaan op de wandelroute voor visueel gehandicapten.

Op het landgoed aangekomen krijg je informatie over de hier (soms) aanwezige grazers.

Hier kun je cache vinden. Ga niet het bos in! Niet graven of prikken! De cache is een grote Tupperware beker met een Geoaching sticker. Bij het logboekje is plaats voor kleine TB's, kleine hitchhikers, coins etc. De cache graag een tiental meters van de locatie waar je hem gevonden hebt loggen.

Walk of about 3 to 4 kilometres across the Groevenbeekse heide (moor) and country-seat Oud Groevenbeek.
The name of the moor and the country-seat comes from the Groevenbeek = name of the brook, which starts on the country-seat. On the country-seat you will find a park and area’s with copse as well some agriculture area’s. In this area you will find lots of birds. You can see buzzards, hawks, black and green woodpeckers with a little luck. Also wild animals like roe and wild boars life in this Forrest.
Obey the rules during your tour.
- The area may only be visited during sunrise and sunset.
- Stay on the paths and respect nature. You do not have to go into the Forrest and you do not have to dig or so.
- Dogs are allowed. On the moor they can walk free but in the Forrest they have to stay on the line.
- Biking is allowed on the roads and paths. But NOT on the route for visual disabled persons.

Here you will find the cache. Do not go into the forest. No digging! The cache is a large Tupperware muk with a Geoaching sticker on it. Besides the small logbook is space for small TB's, small hitchhikers, coins etc. Please log the cache on a small distance from where you have found it.
