"High Tor" is the name Anne Bartley Smith gave to this property.
This area was willed to the people of Ontario in 1987, and is held by the Ontario Heritage Foundation.

"Anne Bartley Smith was an incredibly generous woman.
Upon her passing, in 1987, she left in excess of 15.5 million dollars in cash and properties to various charities and government agencies.
Her most treasured possession, High Tor, a 97-acre paradise atop the Oak Ridges Moraine, the only recharge area for our drinking water.
