Geocache Description:

Newsflash: Cosmic storm hits GPS satellite system.

The cache is not at the above coordinates - the puzzle is to find the cache.

You can't believe it, overnight the entire GPS satellite system went down. Hit by the worst cosmic storm in history, all satellites are out!

How are you going to be first to find on the new puzzle cache without GPS? You quickly email a few friends to discuss the horror of the situation. And then you realise there might be a way - all you have to do is solve the puzzle, the GPS isn't really necessary.

The puzzle is this:

4299 from 1081
6007 from A23V
10605 from A24N

Now you're not sure what 1081, A23V and A24N are, but they seem to be important. If you can just work out what the numbers mean and what the codes are then perhaps you can get to the treasure. Perhaps you'll be FTF?

The solution to this will BOLE you over.

You are looking for a 500ml plastic container painted black with Geocache written in silver on the lid. It is hidden in a tree. The tree is 11m at an angle of 186 degrees off True North from your destination. The tree is by a pole so you'll know you have the right tree.

When placed it contained a pencil, a log book, and a few other goodies too (including a golf ball I found under the tree when placing the cache).

Good luck!

Oh, according to the puzzle, the radius of the earth in Dunedin is 6385300M, but it isn't obvious if you need to know that!
