Geocache Description:

PATEAROA is a small settlement in the foothills of the Rock and Pillar Range. The cache is located on the Eastside Walkway adjacent to the Sowburn Stream.

The cache is a 400 ml container located at ground level but invisible from 1 metre. When placed it contained a few small trading items.
The Sowburn Walkway commences near the "top" road bridge (and swimming hole) and for a large part of it's length follows the contour of a now disused water race which formerly supplied the towns water requirements.
After locating the cache you could continue up the "Eastside" track before crossing the stream via the "Gallaway Bridge" and returning via the "Westside" of the loop (or ignore the bridge and continue "Eastside" to "Dykes Dam").
