Der Hohe Lindkogel ist mit 834 m einer der höchsten Wienerwaldberge. Am Gipfel findet sich das Eiserne Tor-Schutzhaus und die Sina-Warte. Die Wege sind gut ausgezeichnet und es bieten sich, je nach Jahreszeit, unterschiedliche Aufstiegsmittel und Aufstiegswege an. Im Sommer kommt man, wenn man sich an Forststrassen hält, sogar mit dem Kinderwagen auf den Gipfel. Um zum Versteck zu gelangen muss man für ca. 20m Wege verlassen.
Es bieten sich, je nach Jahreszeit, unterschiedliche Aufstiegsmittel und Aufstiegswege an.
Im Winter bietet sich eine leichte Sktiour mit Ausgangspunkt Sattelbach (284 m) an (der cache wurde so versteckt). Dauer des Aufstiegs ca. 2h. Die Lawinengefahr bei dieser Tour ist sehr niedrig.
Im Sommer kann man mit dem Mountainbike über die Lindkogel-Strecke(33) oder Wolfsgeist-Strecke (35) rauftreten, siehe Moutainbike Wienerwald.
Wer doch lieber zu Fuss geht, so ist der Hohe Lindkogel als Wanderung auf viele Wege erreichbar: Es kann z.B. der Beethoven-Weg von Rohrbach bei Schwarzensee als Aufstieg und Abstieg über Weg 404 zum Zoblhof und Ausganspunkt (ca 350 Höhenmeter, ca. 2,5 h Gesamtgehzeit) gewählt werden. Alternativ kann man ab der Cholera-Kapelle (Bushaltestelle) über Kalkgraben und Brennersteig zum Hohen Lindkogel gelangen, der Steiniger Graben kann dann als Abstieg zum Ausgangspunkt gewählt werden (ca. 550 Höhenmeter, ca. 3,5 h Gesamtgehzeit).
Am Gipfel findet sich das Eiserne Tor-Schutzhaus, welches ganzjährig bewirtschaftet ist (ausser Montag ist Ruhetag, allerdings nicht an einem Feiertag; 1., 2. und 3. Juli-Woche Urlaubssperre). Weiters findet sich das Versteck des Caches in der nordwestlichen Ecke des Fundaments. Der Cache ist ein 0.5l Gurkenglas in einem Plastiksack. Stift, Hinweisblatt und Logbuch bitte dort lassen. Wenn möglich, den Cache zusätzlich mit Steinen, Holz, etc. tarnen.

The Hoher Lindkogel is 834m in height, therefore it ranks among the highest mountains of the Wienerwald. At the summit You will find the Eiserne Tor-Schutzhaus and the Sina-Warte. The trails are well marked. Depending on the season different tracks and means of transportation can be chosen. In summertime, provided You stay on "Forststrassen" it is even possible to do the hike with a stroller. For the final cache retrieval You have to leave trails for about 20 meters.

In wintertime an easy "Sktiour" is a good choice. One such tour starts at Sattelbach (284 m) with an ascent lasting approximately 2 hours (the cache was hidden this way). There is a very low danger of avalanches.
In summertime You can cycle on a mountain bike either the Lindkogel-route(33) or Wolfsgeist-route (35), see Moutainbike Wienerwald.
Finally, if You prefer to walk, there are several ascents for hiking up to Hoher Lindkogel: E.g. the Beethoven-trail leads up from Rohrbach bei Schwarzensee and for the descent trail 404 leading to Zoblhof and further to the starting point can be chosen (difference in altitude: 350 meters, total time: 2,5 hours). Alternatively, an ascent starting from Cholera-Kapelle (bus stop) via Kalkgraben and Brennersteig and coming back through Steiniger Graben can be chosen (difference in altitude: 550 meters, total time: 3,5 hours).
At the summit You find the Eiserne Tor-Schutzhaus, which is open all year (exceptions: closed on mondays but open on mondays which are public holidays; 1., 2. and 3. weeks of July are closed due vacation). The cache hiding place is found at the northwestern corner of the foundation of the building. The cache is a 0.5 liters glass wrapped in a plastic bag. Please leave pen, cache-note and logbook in the cache. If possible, try to camouflage the cache using stones, wood, etc.
