Coordinates listed above ARE NOT the first part, just the general area. A 5 stage cache hunt with multiple parts covering almost 150 miles. Time? Plan on all day!!! YOU WILL have to sign the log book at stage 4 AND 5 to claim credit for the cache.
This is a 5 stage cache put together by: W ide glide, Turtle, Wing-it, Sky Trek, Zingerhead . The final part of each stage will have the coordinates for the next stage. They must be done in order from 1 to 5. Adding SpikeyJr as one of the Tormentors.
Stage 1 is a 2 part puzzle cache, (Quest for Chiliad, click on the jpeg picture for the puzzle)
Stage 2 is a one part micro cache placed by Wing-it.
Stage 3 is a 3 part micro cache by Sky Trek. Parking is at N41* 32.991
W72* 49.909. If you stay on the main trails the terrain is about a 2.5, if you bushwhack between part 1 and 2 the terrain changes to about a 4.5.
Stage 4: is a 2 part cache by Zingerhead. Cache mileage depends on the robustness of cache vehicle, if the cache vehicle is a Geo, the hike is just under 6 miles round trip. If the cache vehicle is a Hummer then hike is 1.25 miles round trip. Just kidding on the 6 miles, there will be alternate parking coordinates given for the vehicularly challenged which makes a 2 mile round trip on foot. Heavy snow would force parking about .75 miles further away at a public lot that would likely to be plowed. The first part a micro cache has waypoints for driving the jeep road and coordinates to the alternate parking area.The second part is a ammo box hidden so as to be snow accessible.
Stage 5 is a 5 part cache by W I D E glide. All 5 parts are near roads directing you to the next..
Part1. At the first part you will find a sign with 6 numbers on 2 signs on the same post. Use the higher number on one of the signs. , you can read them without stopping. Take the next right, there are places to stop at my favorite rest stop area to do your math. For stage
2 add your 3 sign numbers to 155 for N41* 55.XXX. Add the 3 numbers to 592 for W 72* 57.XXX .
Part 2. At these coordinates you will find a hanging metal object, there are 3 dates, take the last 3 numbers of the oldest date and subtract 676 for
N42* 02.XXX. Subtract 819 from the last 3 numbers for W72* 58.XXX,
this will take you to part 3.
Part 3. Here you will find a year, take the last 3 numbers and subtract 429 for
N72* 00.XXX. subtract 536 for W72* 58.XXX. This will take you to stop 4.
Part 4. Find the year the West Hartland Cemetery Association incorporated. Take the last 3 numbers and subtract 673 for N42* 01.XXX. Subtract 370 for W 72* 59.XXX this will be the coordinates for the final cache.
Part 5. Congratulations you have completed 150 miles To Glory
