Founding of the castle (around 1421) is connected to the beginnings of the Hussite movement in Eastern Bohemia. It was rebuilt into a exceptionally strong fortress in the late 15th century, however its taking by Swedes at the end of the Thirty Years' War proved fatal. Its buildings were substantially damaged and a larger restoration came only in the early 20th century. The vista from its extant rotund
tower is not hindered by any major obstacles, so with some luck you can see ridges of Giant Mountains.
Zalozeni hradu (okolo roku 1421) je spojeno s pocatky Husitskeho hnuti ve Vychodnich Cechach. Ke konci 15. stoleti byl prestaven ve vyjimecne opevnenou tvrz, ale jeho dobyti Svedy na konci Tricetilete valky se stalo osudnym.
