Geocache Description:

Buurtschap Horst / Hamlet Horst

Rond het jaar 1000 woonden hier al mensen in een buurtschap wat een voorloper van Horst is geweest. Rond 1300 wordt het buurtschap Horst genoemd vanwege daar gepleegde ontginningen. Na de inpoldering van Flevoland zijn de randmeren ontstaan. Horst ligt aan het Wolderwijd en in de zomer wordt hier genoten van zon, water en strand.

Around the year 1000 already people lived in this surroundings. Around 1300 the small village Horst is called because of there committed grubbings. And with the impoldering of Flevoland a new lake was made. Horst lies to the Wolderwijd and in the summer it becomes a place to enjoy sun and water.
