There was no cache here, and I happened to have a largish small container (or a smallish regular container) with me. There is no need to cross the park boundary. The cache area has no poison oak, though there is some between the trail and the cache area that can currently be avoided without trouble, but may change with the seasons. There is evidence of animal activity in the area (trampled grasses), supposedly wild pigs roam in this park.
The parking fee is currently $5. There is a free lot at Twin Gates, and there may be other access points. Be cognizant of No Parking signs when parking along Mt. Hamilton Rd. In the spring, the Cañada de Pala trail can be very muddy; so I might recommend approaching from the Overlook on Dutch Flat Trail.
Difficulty: 1.0. Newbies should have no problem locating this cache from anywhere within 20 feet.
Terrain: 3.0. Hike is at least two miles and may involve at least 800 feet of elevation gain.
Cache starts with kablooey CacheCoin #095 (scratched), a Sacagewea dollar, a 2005 Giants-Rockies smashed penny, a Hot Wheels Boom Box car, and a molecule-shaped ball from kusanagi.
