Geocache Description:

This an ordinary ammo box cache, hidden at the end of a well-blazed trail in the Green Mountain National Forest high above Lincoln Gap. Though the trail is only .15 miles long, it's quite steep in spots and leads up bare rock for about half the distance. The view is worth the climb.

To reach the parking area for this cache, take Lincoln Gap Road east out of Lincoln proper and head up the mountain. The road will become dirt after a ways and you may see signs stating that the road to Warren is closed, but that's a seasonal thing and in any case you don't need to go past the closure point if you're approaching the cache from the west. From the east (Warren) you may have to go the long way around during the winter.

The parking area is located alongside the road at N44 05.706 W72 55.947. The trail up to the cache is well blazed with blue blazes. Though the trail is very short, it's a steep climb up bare rock in several places. Be careful.

If you go past the sign reading "END OF TRAIL" you have gone too far. Stop at that point, turn around and enjoy the view, and then start looking for the cache.

The area isn't frequently visited but when it is, people tend to stay for a bit and enjoy the view. Please make sure to hide the cache securely once you're done logging in.
