You can start the trail from either end and it is in the middle
of the two places so both starting locations will require the same
walking time. Allow 1 - 1 1/2 hours for the round trip, although it
will be quicker on a bike.
There is lots of sand on the track so a bike might not be a lot
quicker.
An alternative route is via the beach and this makes a pleasant
return leg of the trip, especially on a nice day.
The cache is hidden about 150m off the track and you can get
good gps coverage within 50m of the cache site.
The cache is a 400ml round container with "GEO" on the lid.
The cache contains logbook, pencil and a few small items. When
first placed I included a Travel Bug brought back from a recent
trip to Nelson. An extra incentive for the FTF.
