Geocache Description:

Denne cache vil føre dig gennem dele af det gamle Helsingør til ”Verdens Ende”.

This multicache will take you though parts of the old town of Helsingør to „The end of the world”

Ifølge sagnet var en løjtnant forelsket i en datter af kommandanten på Kronborg og han svor han ville bortføre hende til Verdens ende. Parret flygtede sammen, men blev indhentet af deres forfølgere, her hvor denne cache er gemt.

Teoretisk set er det ligegyldigt i hvilken rækkefølge du gennemføre de forskellige trin, dog anbefales det at gennemføre dem nedenstående i rækkefølge.
Det er yderligere tilrådeligt at medbringe sit transportmiddel mellem trin 3 og 4.

Trin 1.
Ved N56 02.363 E012 37.031 finder du porten ind til Kronborg. Denne port sidder fast med 4 store hængsler, 2 på hver ”dør”. Men hvor mange bolte sidder der i hvert hængsel på døren?

Trin 2.
Ved N56 02.204 E 012 36.776 står man foran en rød dør. På denne dør ses et udskåret årstal. Årstallet er 19AB.

Trin 3
Her ved N 56 02.185 E 012 36.620 møder du en gamle konge. Det var denne konge som gav Helsingør status af købstad, byggede fæstningen Krogen, som senere er blevet til Kronborg og indførte Sundtolden. Danmark har i tidens løb tjent rigtig mange penge på denne told, som skulle betales hvis man ville sejle gennem Øresund. Sundtolden ophørte i år 18CD. Årstallet kan findes ved at gå ”bag om ryggen” på den gamle konge….

Trin 4
Ved N 56 02.526 E 012 36.036 ses en stensarkofag. Sarkofagen er opstillet til minde om Hamlet, hovedpersonen i Shakespeares kendte drama, der udspiller sig på Kronborg slot. På pladen på stenen står der at den er opstillet i år 19EF.

Trin 5
Når du når til N 56 02.643 E 012 35.891 kan du se en (tørlagt) kilde, der bære navnet på Hamlets kærlighed, den skønne Ophelia. Lige ved siden af kilden er der en trappe.

It doesn’t really matter in which order you go through the steps of the cache, but it is recommended that you follow them as listed below.
Furthermore it’s advisable to bring along your means of transportation, if any, between step 3 and 4.

According to the tale, a lieutenant fell in love with the daughter of the Commander of Kronborg Castle. They lovers planed to flee together and the lieutenant promised that he would take her to the end of the world. But they only made it as far as to the area where the cache is hidden, before they were caught, and the place was called “the end of the world” thereafter.

Step 1
At N56 02.363 E012 37.031, you are standing in front of the gate to Kronborg. This gate is held by 4 large hinges, 2 on each “door”. But how many bolts is there on each hinge on the door?

Step 2.
At N 56 02.204 E 012 36.776 you will end up at the front of at red door. On the top of the door is at year carved out. This year is 19AB.

Step 3
Here at N 56 02.185 E 012 36.620 you will meet a old danish king. This king build the fortress “Krogen”, which later became Kronborg Castle, and began to demand a tax from ships passing through the waters of Øresund. This tax, called “sundtolden” made a lot of money to the coffers of the Danish crown. The “sundtold” was removed in the year 18CD. The year can be found “going behind the king’s back” (Sundtolden ophørte i…)

Step 4
At N 56 02.526 E 012. 36.036 you will come upon a sarcophagus made of stone. The sarcophagus is in memorial of Hamlet, the main character of a well known Shakespeare drama, that unfolds at Kronborg castle. On the sarcophagus, there is a plate that states that the sarcophagus has been placed there in the year of 19EF.

Step 5
When you reach the position N 56 02.643 E 012.35.891 you will see a (dryed out) spring, named after the love of Hamlet, the lovely Ophelia. Right next to the spring the is a stairway. Count the number of steps in the stairway. The total number of digits is = G

Step 6
Now you are well on your way towards the end of the world. The cache, a 1 liter icebox, is hidden here, at
