Uncle Bubba was a wonderful storyteller. I dedicate this cache to him. Reading and reflecting on his memories and stories have brought me and countless others so many hours of enjoyment. His enthusiasm for exploration was matched by his love of history.

When Uncle Bubba was a young boy, he and his friends would escape the summer heat by swimming. He was known for his endurance, but found laps boring. He told me that one of his favorite swims was in a narrow waterway where there was a nearby horse path. Often his best friend, Jake, would trot alongside and when my uncle got tired, they would ride back home on horseback.

One very hot evening, Uncle Bubba was especially energetic and he swam a long way. Just a short distance ahead, he could hear music and see lots of lights. Jake and Uncle Bubba were filled with curiosity. They decided to get close and see what was going on.

Jake and Uncle Bubba found a post behind the house where they hitched their horse and watched from the bushes. (This is where you begin to follow and plot their trail from the information you will find). From this granite post with a rusted brown ring, walk alongside the canal to the crossover, but be sure not to fall in.

Uncle Bubba and Jake traveled down and across the canal to the big field just beyond the big house. Quietly they crept across to get a better view of the merriment. They quietly observed the ornately sculptured rock and were struck with awe as they stared at the ladies in long dresses and beautiful bonnets all adorned with flowers.

Their mouths watered as they peered at the lavish array of food. Would they be able to try some ? Some distance away they noticed a table full of fruits near a small tree. They thought no one would miss some tea cakes and a few apples. They found a place nearby to hide, snack and continue to watch all the excitement.

As time passed, they began to think about heading for home. Just then, one of the butlers saw them and began to approach. The boys checked the clock and headed in a 12 o'clock direction for about 10 feet and found a good place to hide. Jake realized that he had a hole in his pocket, so he hid his small container, (used for catching worms and bugs) before they hurried back to the canal. They were afraid to go back for their stash, thinking that if they did, that they might be caught and detained by the local constable. Can you carefully navigate their movements and locate the missing items?
