The hike from here to the Page Mill site along Slate Creek is something special. The sun filtering through the redwoods, and the sounds of the creek make for a great hike.
Nope, the cache is not in or around the gigantic split redwood. It is directly uphill from there, but don't head directly uphill. If you read this before heading down to the creek, turn onto the side trail marked by 2-3 short sections of tree trunk just before turning left to head down to the creek. If need to go back up, take the trail. The cache is accessible from the side trail. (Edited 5/13/07 to save the hillside and avoid injuries.)
