This is close to the old Rowfant station on the disused Crawley to East Grinstead Railway. Now the Worth Way a footpath / cycle way (Sustrans Route 21)
The cache is a 2litre clear plastic container with a white lid.
The old railway was a victim of Lord Beeching's axe and closed in 1967.
The keen eyed might spot the fencing along the top of the bank close to the cache indicating some 'secret' site.
I have some more links to local information on my cycling website (visit link)
The Worth Way goes between Crawley and East Grinstead and you can then join the Forest Way and continue on a pleasant off road track to Groombridge.
There is parking at the Old Rowfant Station at TQ 32364 36793 (51° 06.8805' N 0° 06.5114')
New logbook added today 4th September 2005
