This cache is on top of a hill around Bitan scenic area in Shindian. The cache place has a great overlook to Bitan. The height of this hill is only 152m, and the hill trail is well constructed by wooden stairs.
You can start the trip from Shindian MRT station. Walk through the famous Bitan suspension bridge to the west bank of the Hsindian River. When you see a noodle house at the end, turn left. You will see the Big Buddha Temple on your left hand side soon. Keep walking until you find a wrecked building. The trailhead is on the right of that building. It takes only 5 minutes to the top. The cache is in a plastic box around 21 x 13 cm. Geomuggles wander in this area all year round. Be invisible!!
Bitan is the venue of the dragon boat racing competition held in Dragon Boat Festival every year. The place name Bitan means “green lake”. The Shindian river in this section has wide flat water which is great for kayaking. Hope you will enjoy the great lake view there.
