Teglværket - The Tile

Området denne cache befinder sig i
hedder Østre Anlæg. Østre anlæg dækker i dag store dele af området,
hvor der førhen lå et teglværk. Søen i anlægget er den gamle
lergrav, der tilhørte værket, men også
de omkringliggende gader Teglvænget, Vangs Allé og
Bonnesensgade er opkaldt efter
teglværket og dets ejere. Murermester Niels Peter Vang
(1812-1878) anlagde teglværket i hvad der dengang hed
Østerkæret i 1851. I 1873 overtog
sønnen C. T. Vang (1843-1912) teglværket. Han forbedrede og
moderniserede teglværket i de efterfølgende år, og solgte det
i 1909 til sin fætter Niels Bonnesen (1867-1932), der
imidlertid flyttede produktionen til Visborg Teglværk.
Aalborg Kommune købte arealet til boligbyggeri i 1919 og
oprettede samtidig denne skønne oase midt i et voksende
boligkvarter.

markant bygning mod nord. Bygningen har tidligere huset det gamle
Stiftsbogtrykkeri og Margarinefabrik og er afbilledet til venstre

The
Tile Factory
The
area of the cache is called Østre
Anlæg. Øster Anlæg is covering
an area where an old tile factory once was located. The lake is the
old clay pit and the streets in the area are named after the
owners. Master Mason Niels Peter
Vang (1812-1878) founded the tile
factory in 1851. His son, C. T. Vang
(1843-1912), took charge of the tile factory and modernized it
before he sold it to his cousin Niels
Bonnesen (1867-1932) in 1909.
Niels Bonnesen however moved the tile factory away from
the city to Visborg Teglværk. The local municipality bought the area
for house building in 1919 and made this beautiful park.
Your
