I Klintholm Kalkgrave får vi indblik i jordklodens svimlende fortid. Det helt specielle ved kalkgravene her, er at man tydeligt kan se overgangen mellem to tidsperioder. Der er badestrande og fiskevand i nærheden. På varme dage i forsommeren kan du være heldig at høre klokkefrøernes smukke hule kvækken, selvom den oprindelige bestand af frøer uddøde i 1980érne. En målrettet indsats med opdræt og gravning af vandhuller har medført, at klokkefrøen igen yngler i de gamle kalksøer. Husk at frøen er fredet og ikke må fjernes. The special feature of chalk pits is that they clearly show the transformation from one age to another. There are beaches and fishing waters in the area. On warm days in the early summer, you may be lucky enough to hear the beautiful call of the fire-bellied toad, although the original population of these toads died in the 1980s. The fire-bellied toad now breeds in the old chalk lakes once more, as the results of a concerted effort involving rearing toads and digging watering holes for them.
