Geocache Description:

This is the seventh in our remote pond series.
An easy half mile hike to a lovely, undeveloped pond.

Park at the Gardner Memorial Wayside Park on Route 4A on the Springfield/Wilmot town line. The path to Butterfield Pond is very well marked and maintained, if a bit muddy. Someone has left two rowboats up at the pond to use, although we did not check for paddles. The water looked very clear and inviting today.

When you get near the cache you must leave the trail and bushwack a short way up a steep slope. The very well stocked ammo box should not be hard to find, although tree cover made our GPS wander a bit. Have fun!
