Geocache Description:

A cache near the top of Mt Isobel, near scenic Hanmer Springs. If you get the weather right, there are spectacular views from here.

The cache is a 1l Yu-gi-oh plastic sistema box.

There are several ways for approaching this cache. We came from the waterfall track which is a nice scenic walk through native beech forest. We parked at S42 30.238 E172 50.592 - 485m ASL. It took 4 hours round-trip.

It would probably be a quicker trip and a shorter climb from the top of Jack's Pass. Whichever way you come, expect a significant climb, and narrow rocky tracks. The track is poled above the snowline. The cache is at about 1300m ASL.

This cache is in an alpine location. Take appropriate precautions against the changeable New Zealand weather, especially in winter. Bring water, emergency food, warm clothing, and a waterproof outer layer.

Please post some pictures of the view, if you get one. When we placed it, it was foggy and snowing!
